Harmonised Norm
EN 81-28 defines features and performance of remote alarm systems on passenger and goods
passenger lifts, with special reference to lifts described in EN 81 norm series.
The purpose of this norm is to prevent the danger of entrapment of passengers caused by malfunctioning of the lift
installation. This is accomplished through the availability of an alarm system featuring bi-directional communication
between lift and remote emergency service.
In principle, EN 81-28 applies to alarm equipments of lifts installed after the date of publication of the norm.
However, it may well be considered as a reference for the modernization of existing lift (see SNEL EN 81-80 norm).
With the purpose of ensuring full compliance to EN81-28 norm,
DMG designed the
AMIGO Emergency Telephone, whose advanced features allow
maximum safety against the risk of entrapment in the lift.
